Environmental Issues Project

Our 11th grade students have developed quite a challenging project, which involved research work on environmental problems / solutions, creative writing (a letter from the future, imagining what the world will be like in 2050, thinking of negative and positive scenarios) and producing a poster and a short video (see some examples here!) for an environmental awareness campaign.

Earth Day is celebrated on April 22nd, but in fact, Earth Day is every day! We should keep this in mind; our students certainly do! Fortunately, English lessons are very often a place where we discuss and work on many important social issues, which contributes to the development of the students’ research skills, teamwork, critical thinking and creativity, thus making them more conscious citizens.

This project was a great example of that! Congratulations to all 11th graders for their commitment and enthusiasm! (Ana Pedro, English teacher)
